This was the first story to introduce
an explanation of The Doctor's origin and the race of Time Lords,
and the last Dr.Who television production of the Sixties. Jon Pertwee took
over the mantle from
Patrick Troughton, becoming the third incarnation of The Doctor in the seventh
season starting on
3rd January 1970, with a new assistant in the form of Caroline John as Liz
Shaw.
From Season 7 onwards the programme was produced in colour. |
